This is a part-time role (25 hours per week) with the opportunity to grow into full-time, based in our Denver office.



What You’ll Do:

The Legal Assistant will play an integral role in providing substantial value to our clients. At a high level, the Legal Assistant will conduct research, draft documents, and provide billing and administrative support utilizing an understanding of family law principles and legal procedures. The ability to multitask, stay organized, communicate effectively, and work efficiently is crucial for success at our firm.



How You’ll Do It:

  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research on case laws, statutes, and regulations relevant to family law cases. Summarize and analyze legal information to assist attorneys in building strong cases.
  • Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and court filings. Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents. Submit documents to the court via e-file, email, or arranging for hand delivery.
  • Case Management: Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents such as petitions, motions, and pleadings. Manage and organize case files, ensuring that all relevant documents are properly maintained. Coordinate court filings and deadlines, keeping track of important dates.
  • Client Interaction: Provide superior customer service as a first point of contact for clients. Assist in completing necessary forms and paperwork. Maintain confidentiality and establish a professional yet personable rapport.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, data entry, correspondence, and calendar management. Utilize legal research databases and case management software.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal and non-legal staff to ensure smooth workflow. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain a high level of professionalism. Follow firm-wide policies and procedures in the completion of case related and administrative tasks.



Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Paralegal or Legal Assistant experience in a law firm (family law preferred).
  • Completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies.
  • Proficient in legal research and document drafting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, completing work ahead of deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capacity for empathy, understanding, and compassion in interactions with clients and team members.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, organizational and time-management skills.
